i'm still not totally sold on her powers being from something as simple as the pinky, especially if the Leutecce's even considered that how one of them wouldn't try it themselves since they do love to experiment

I see what you're saying, but unless it is explored further in DLC, that seems to be the reason at the moment. I only accept that theory because of that lone Voxophone where Lutece theorizes about what she "isn't".

no it is a good theory and the best we've got (I was just going with the thought that being brought through at such a young age messed with her DNA) but it still seems odd that such a simple thing could give her near limitless powers, and the worlds 2 super scientists are aware of it yet never try to explore it further

I agree. I too was hoping it had more to do with her age, and that her pinky was simply a fast and effective way of confirming her identity to the audience/player.

I thought of it almost as if when the tear cut her finger off some of that energy went into her body through the open wound, like a transference of that energy.
