Darksiders War resin statue arrived today. This is my first F4F piece, and I'm really impressed overall. Double boxed shipper is a nice touch. Everything was well packed. The statue is beautifully done. Well painted. The light up function is great, though it's also nice that it still looks great without the light effect turned on. He's massive for a 1/6 piece (I included a pic with a couple other game pieces I have). Flare 2B is also 1/6, if I'm not mistaken.
I was ready to hate on the fabric elements, but they are actually done quite well. I love that almost every edge is wired, allowing great possibility (I thought War being so young could show a bit of a** 😉 LOL... I still need to futze a little more with the wires, especially the flag).
One (maybe two) small, issues, that I'd love input on. The wires in the flag are sticking out at the ends. Because they are loops, I'm thinking cutting them would be bad. Maybe just add a touch of matching red/maroon paint? Also, I think the very tip of the largest tooth on the base is missing. Not sure... maybe it was designed blunt... hard to tell. There were no scratches in the styrofoam and no tip either, so nothing broke in shipping.

everything looks great except for the face, it does not look like war face.

Congrats, looks good. For some reason I though this line was 1/4 scale.

Was the portrait revised during production or is it a paint application issue:

The production portrait seems a bit wider/larger mouth, but it could also be the way the proto pic is lit. The shadows on the sides of his face, yet no shadow being cast by his mouth/lower lip. That's tricky to achieve. If there are changes beyond lighting, they don't particularly bother me. But I do understand the critique, nonetheless.

As for the tooth on the base, I realize this is TOTALLY nitpicking, BUT.... it's a $600+ 1/6 scale statue, AND it's literally the tooth pointing straight at your face in a normal viewing angle. I can't unsee it. Not sure what to do about that....

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

My War came in today, the face is better in hand, it's not perfect, it's not as good as the proto but i wouldn't say it is bad.

What is annoying is the light up, it's a soft push switch, so every time it's turned off at the mains you have to push the switch on the statue to get it to light back up...which is my set up is very annoying.

Also i have to say the light up in the Heart in wars hand is the weakest light up i have ever seen from F4F, I've praised F4F for a long time for their light ups but this is so dull, the gauntlet animation isn't great and the blinking heart is only ok, but it's just not very bright.

So these have made my decision easy to not bother with the EX for Death as i'm sure it'll be the same push button...and as the effects are underwhelming on War i'll save myself a few quid.

The statue itself is good, it's a decent size for a 1/6 (i still would have preferred 1/4 and something with more presence), paints are good but I think it's lost a bit of something from the proto, armour looks muddy in places, I'd prefer a lighter red, silvers and golds to be brighter...it's a good piece for sure, one of F4Fs best definitely not.

It's funny you mention this, because I was actually thinking how too bright the eyes are. They are like a plane coming in for a landing
