As did I. I think people were just expecting the ultimate GL movie right out of the gate.

Yeah, I really like Ryan Reynolds and thought he was pretty good here. I guess people didn't like Parallex as the villain perhaps.

Bourne Identity (1988) 7/10
Not bad for a small budget TV series/movie. It's close to Ludlum's books. I also liked the Matt Demon films as well.

Star Trek III - Search For Spock 7/10 - Still stands up. Not a bad end to a great 2-parter. Kinda goofy but Kirk has that great death battle w/ the Taxi/Back To the Future Klingon.

For me Green Lantern would have been a good movie had it been released ten or fifteen years ago. But the cold reality is that the "genre" of Superhero movie has been lifted so high thanks to Nolan's efforts, plus movies and performances such as X-Men: First Class, that a movie such as Green Lantern, in that genre, just doesn't even come close to cutting the mustard. As comic and\or Green Lantern fans, we were entitled to expect a hell of a lot more IMO

Agree. This GL to me was like the 1st Ghost Rider film. It just missed the boat on almost every level. Nolan I give very little credit to. The films he directed were basically good detective stories that just had Batman inserted in them. They were written well and would have done good without Batman even in them.
