Yes, it feels like a mess the more i look at it. And strangely it still could've worked. Love the gauntlets and boots, portrait and base. But art direction failed by not known when to pull back. Those legs are an eyesore andsadly much of what's hidden by the cape.
Add insult by slapping $600 price tag on this thing and SS just generated sales for P1 version.

Just looked at the full reveal on Side Shows site. Much to my disappointment the creases in the lower portion of the suit continued throught out his legs. Plus is it me or are his arms too short lol?

One thing that Sideshow got right with the statue. Not giving an unmasked head for both premium formats. Cause it wouldn't fit at all!
Imagine this as an EX. Terrible. As others have said a grappling gun would've been nice. Or him with a battle damaged cowl.

Thats an arrogant ignorant remark, to equate someone with wanting an unmasked portrait on a statue with not understanding a character. So i suppose all those who have an unmasked portrait on OG bats and those who’ll get one on this one don’t understand the character? How stupid can you be?!

biggest fail on this statue is the cape on the upper part.
it looks like a old previous century coachmen coat there.
especially on the shoulder part, otherwise its a great piece.

The cape part does remind me of Gotham by Gaslight Batman

I think the head sculpt is excellent. IMO would look better if he wasn't so hunched over

Ok, so now we know. It's not just the cape. He does indeed have a hunchback. And he's way too bulky. Looks like a pro wrestler.
The problem here is not that Sideshow tried something not comic accurate, it's that it just doesn't work. If this had been a great design that wasn't comic accurate everyone would be just as quick to praise it as they are to slam the one we got. Swing and a miss.
Easy passes on this and new Superman. Wonder Woman is great, but passing there also as my statue budget is on other pieces at the moment. If they had all three been great maybe it would be a different story.

Oh, agreed on the head sculpt. The portrait itself is very well done. IMO it just needs to be a tad bigger and more upright.

the shin guards, the boots, the knee pads... its just so busy
I think it would also look better if his upper body had the same definition as the lower, it looks like his suit is vacuum formed to his oddly bulging abs. canales anatomy has always been stylized and works for a lot of characters but looks out of place here imo
