They make their money because they force the LCD's to buy (don't they ?). I don't eversee anyone buy statues from the LCD's in Houston. They just sit on the shelves and collect dust. The only place I buy is on ebay which is considerably harder now since ebay has run off 70% of the small listers. You can still get deals. You just have to work harder.

How much does DC pay the Chinese for a statue that they sell for $200.00. I'll bet it's probably about $10.00. So they sell it to the LCD for what ?

I bought ne Heroes of he DCU bust nd that was it. I just can't justify paying the high pice for that. I'll keep the WODCU only because I'm in too deep now. Same with Batman B&W.
Although they are pretty nice I won't spend a dime on the series with the translucent bases. Maybe ge one or two of the 'Bay.

Why pay full price at the LCS? I get my stuff a lot cheaper on Ebay!

Don't forget SS, pretty much all the companies are losing control on pricing.

I'm all for supporting my LCS so it really is sad when you can find those for a fraction on ebay, which LCS cannot afford to do because of the crazy rent they have to pay.

I find that as far as statue companies go you get the most statue for least amount of cash with Sideshow...not too mention they are putting out some of the most cutting edge products on the market.

I'm with you guys and agree that the pricing from all the vendors is really getting out of hand. So I respond by adjusting my standards to suit the price I have to pay--if the companies drop the ball on the quality, I don't buy.
Also, not just the quality standard, but overall saturation. They keep jacking up the prices and therefore limiting how far my $$ stretch so naturally I have to pick and choose as I can no longer afford to be a completist anymore.

The WotDCU statues are amazing in quality though. The sculpting is first rate and the paint app is brilliantly clean and sharp. Two things that I don't mind paying more for.
