Perhaps they let the sculptor submit a design and they loved it. Either way, it's amazing

The Death statue that was the sole entry in the Cover Girls of Vertigo was designed & sculpted by JACK Mathews...

God damn I am so confused.

There IS a Jonathan Matthews who is a sculptor for DC.

yes, & Jack Mathews sculpted all the AH DCCG statues (lus much more!).

They are two separate sculptors with very similar names

I was just showing that a sculptor can do an original piece NOT based on someone else's artwork

Anyone else pick this piece up?

I received mine and the peg fits into the base EXTREMELY loosely. It wobbles with the slightest nudge.

I got mine last week. Mine isn't loose but I do have to be very careful when moving it.

I got mine this week. It fits pretty well in the slot, but I'm very nervous about anything bumping into the case it's displayed in. It's a very small, short piece of metal keeping the entire statue on that base for sure.
