Yamato's New Series - Greek Mythology - HERA
Hey everyone, Yamato is doing a new series of statue based on Greek Mythology. I'm very glad to be creating the first one for this series.
The first one is Hera.
Here is my digital sculpt.
Thanks,
-Wei

Scale? Material?
Nice sculpt, reminds me of Charlize Theron.

Yeah, you're right, it does look like Charlize. It's Charlize with a little more 'Roman' look to her.
It's 1/6 scale resin. Yamato doesn't do much PVCs anymore. This one is almost 14 inches if I remember correctly.
Thanks, -Wei

Thanks for the info!
Why did Yamato move away from PVC? Cool that it's 1/6 scale.

I see all sorts of customs coming out of that. With the short hair, possibly, a Jubilee!
BTW, Very nice!

PVCs from what I'm told is very expensive to produce because they have to make huge editions. Resins you can make as low as 500, with PVCs, you'll have to make at minimum a few thousands to recoup the cost of the molds.
I'm no expert on this but that's what I've heard.

Haha, yeah, I forgot to mention, the top does come off=). I like cast-off statues so I try to implement that on my design.

Yeah, me too. I have to first come up with the colors though.
Greek mythology is awesome. Brings me back to my school years=). Love the characters and I'm glad I have an opportunity to put my spin on it.
Thanks, -Wei
