52 Pick-Up (1986)
6.7/10

Somewhat dated. Daft story line that verges on the ridiculous.
For some reason i found myself glued to 52 Pick-Up from start to finish, if only to find out how things will pan out?

Robert Trebor who plays the part of Leo Franks stood out as a top performer.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

TMNT Mutant Mayhem. 5/10

I think they mixed up Dontatello and Mikey. Awful story and design.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 - 4/10

The best of a poor lot. I’ll admit, it had some touching as well as horrifying moments, but a middle of the road film at best.

The other two get 2/10 at best from me.

Renfield - Nick Cage was excellent and so were Nick Hoult and Awkwafina. Story and Renfield focus was clever. There were some predictable bits, but overall very enjoyable. Lots of over the top violence also. 7.5/10

Dungeons & Dragons - well made and well acted. Chris Pine is excellent as the lead although he seems to bring the same delivery across films (Star Trek, Wonder Woman). Rest of the cast was very good also. Good, mostly mindless movie fun. 7/10

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
8.5/10

I recently picked up the Indiana Jones 4 movie Blu-ray box set, as i had not watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for over 20 years.
Raiders of the Lost Ark holds up well, even now in 2023. I enjoyed every bit of it

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
6/10

I got to see this for the first time last night. It fails to compare to Raiders of the Lost Ark. I took it for what it was. The level of humor seemed over done and applied too often. The yellow inflatable raft idea was ridiculous, even for Indiana Jones. Other than the impressive mine-carts set, much of the movie does look like a movie set. For that it felt more dated compared to Raiders of the Lost Ark. The restaurant scene at the beginning was good fun.

Tonight will be Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I have high hopes for this movie. Can't wait!

Have you never seen Last Crusade, UKShaun? Oh you are in for such a treat if you haven't!! Crusade is my favorite, but I also love Sean Connery.

People really don't enjoy Temple of Doom. I think the movie gets hindered by Kate Capshaw's performance. She's too squealy for me, which may have been OK if Karen Allen hadn't been so good as Marion. Maybe Spielberg did want to offend his crush by asking her to tone it down?
