I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Finally coming to New York. Need Advice please.
Hey guys, I'm finally making the trip to New York. Taking my 18 year old son on a baseball road trip. What area is the best to stay to catch both the Mets and Yankees? Coming end of July.

No, I will be flying in or taking train from Boston. We are stopping by Fenway on the first leg of our baseball road trip.

Ok. I'd suggest you stay anywhere in the city near a subway station because that's how you're getting to and from the stadiums.

I'm not a sports guybut if he (or you) likes rock (any kind) music, look up Generation Records. It's an awesome independent record/CD store that sells used/new vinyl and CD's.
As for other stuff, you guys can go bowling or visit Coney Island (it's easy to get there from the city)
Check out this list (thanks, Google)

Cool. Thanks for the advice. I'm from Missouri and we are going to book a room with Airbnb. We will spend 3 days in NYC. Going to see Yankees, Mets, and Statue of Liberty. I need to know the area I need to stay in to Maximize my time and foodie needs

Times Square for sure. Midtown comics is fun if he's a nerd. I honestly think the best way to enjoy the city is to walk around and just see where it takes you. I never plan out my day, my friends and I just wander aimlessly. When it comes to food, we just pick any place nearby that we haven't been to. It's always good food. Coney Island as a great time. Fun rides, the original Nathan's, and the Brooklyn Cyclones if you want to see even more baseball.
For someone visiting New York, I'd suggest sticking around Times Square. It's the most fun and exciting part of the city and the least "Wtf is this gross place".
