It doesn't really look like she's winking but more like she's missing an eye. And I'm not a fan of the base... Otherwise I think she looks good.

I hate the winking. Quick and dirty Photoshop (they look crossed since I just flipped the other eye, but you get the idea.)

Ignoring the cross eyes, yeah that looks 100% better having both eyes open...

Such a shame Koto went the winking route.

I don't mind the wink for adding a bit of playfulness to a character every now and then.

I understand what you're saying though, particularly given she's turned her head to the left, is looking right/straight ahead and winks with the right eye. Kind of reminds me of Rocket winking with the wrong eye in GOTG2 (but with less expression).

It could also look like a happy wince/flinch in anticipation of an incoming punch:
