It's been a rough day today for various reasons but one thing which brought a smile to my face was discovering my incredible Shanna commission from Brian Stelfreeze waiting for me!
I hadn't seen Brian for around 10 years when I visited Atlanta and hung out with the then Gaijin Studios crew for a few days so it was wonderful to see him at SDCC last year. I naturally asked him if he was sketching and he said he was happy to take on a Shanna request.
I checked back the next few days and on the last day of the show I went to his booth where he was busy chatting so I asked the guys who'd queued up if they knew whether Brian had been able to complete any commissions. They said it didn't appear that he'd had time to do so - I didn't want to disturb Brian so I left and didn't get a chance to return before departing the show.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I learn that Brian is coming to Australia to visit and spend time with the lovely Conny Valentina! I write to Brian asking if he's willing to accept a con sketch request and he replies that he'd actually completed my SDCC request but didn't know how to reach me and found that I'd departed Ashley Wood 3A Toys booth where I was located.
I was delighted that he still had it and later while he was visiting Conny, Brian added colour to the piece which looks awesome!! I was thrilled with the result which you can see below. Huge thanks to Brian for my amazing colour Shanna and to Conny for delivering her to me safe and sound
I hope you like her!
