There is definitely a ton of hype, but I think it's so far been justified. The Aldo KO was absolutely unexpected, but very welcomed!! We'll see how he does tomorrow, it should be a great fight if they both come to brawl as they say they will. If Conor beats Nate, he should fight Dos Anjos next, take his belt, then fight Robbie for the WW belt. If he beats Robbie, which I don't see happening, then he'll have three belts at which point he can basically choose where he'd like to stay at. Most likely LW. It's all pretty exciting at the moment, we'll see how long it lasts.
I did see Conor's visit to that fan, very cool indeed!!

Very dangerous fight for MacGregor! Nate will probably gas after a couple of rounds because of the late notice, but has a great chance to win on the feet or even better chance on the ground.

Very surprised at that outcome, Nate is such a one dimensional fighter, and I thought Conor would've overwhelmed him with his creativity and various strikes, but he didn't do much of that, just kept trying to land bombs every time which looked like it drained the hell out of him. Props to Nate for a crazy victory.

I can't believe the hype train that has followed Nate since the fight. Like he has been boo'd for 7 years now and everyone loves him now. This is how Nate has fought for years. Punches in bunches and a jiu-jitsu game that is levels above most. Like he has a LEGIT black belt. As soon as it went to the ground I knew it was over.

I will say that he earned my respect after this fight. I'm still not necessarily a fan, but he did a great job and handled himself well after the fight.
You are correct that he didn't do anything he hadn't already been doing for years, I guess it's just the fact that he beat such a high profile opponent. He's beaten other really great fighters before, but not someone with Conor's level of hype behind them. So good for him, a veteran of the sport finally may get his due.

Props to both men, I like both warriors...Level of respect for Conor for going up 2 divisions, didn't play it safe by cancelling the show after RDA pulled out.
I did think Conor was nuts to go up 2 divisions and knew he wasn't going to match Nates cardio, especially since the Nate was training for a marathon...was a very entertaining fun fight.
