IMO the two smartest are Dr.Doom and Reed Richards maybe in that order or maybe not.

well it's different fields really, like Sinister for example is one of if not the top person as far as genetics is concerned, but that knowledge doesn't neccisarily carry over into as many areas as the other men on the list

The Beast going to all these bad guys for genetic help proves he's not the smartest and shouldn't be on a list of the top 8 smartest.
I see what you mean but these lists are flawed except Reed should always be at the top of them along with Doom.

he's smart enough to know when he needs help  Hank is more a well rounded super scientist, exceling in all fields but not the top
