I did receive advice from fellow collectors who have been using similar flat files cabinet for many years and they recommended lining the drawers with acid free paper or soft cloth to stop any possible leaching issues.

Apparently that can occur with oak and cedar but this cabinet doesn't include either wood.

Magnificent Royd! Beautiful piece, which you will enjoy all the more having restored it yourself.

I'll second the request for the 'Before' pics, and would love to hear more about how you went about finding the cabinet.
