Sweden and all of Scandinavia is very liberal and open to people from other countries. I don’t know if the racist monkey/Black person slur is known there or not but it certainly is here. They definitely should have done some research.

I think probably the only film that even comes close is House of Flying Daggers, or Memoirs of a Geisha. Though to be fair both made a lot of cash but weren’t really ‘blockbusters’.

Correct. Both are wonderful films but made as independent films in their respective countries. I think Sony Gem Pictures then purchased the rights to release in the U.S. in limited run in theaters.
