My R2-D2 Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles has arrived - Yay!
First impressions, it is quite good if a bit plastic, and not quite as dark n’ dirty as anticipated. While my (statue) collection is tiny compared to many on this board, I have become used to the heavy cast resin statue’s that ooze quality, and R2-D2 is light-weight by comparison. The paint job is ok, I can see some faults (see photo of blue area with silver paint near R2‘s main blue/red light).
Once R2’s lights are switched on, R2 looks kind of cool. Too bad he fails to make any sounds. It would have so much more impressive if Sideshow has made R2’s rotating head section out of real metal.
