So basically no one knows

At least from that response it sounds like they will be back...eventually.

Hard to say when I guess, production has been stable for years before this. Could be any myriad of business and production reasons, but seems the answer for now is wait and see or grab a used one in the mean time.

If possible, when we can buy them again, I think always buy an extra if you can store it somewhere and you can always sell it if unneeded.
