This is great news . I always preferred Escape from LA to the original so a remake is more than welcome.

Personally I'd like to see a top director such as McG take the reins as he's shown how he can take an already established movie franchise and improve it no end. Maybe Twilights Robert Pattinson in the roll of Snake?

Also if possibly I'd like to see it a PG-12 so I can take my daughter to see it.

Why do you assume he's a CEO? Besides, this isn't the first time a remake of EFNY was planned. Back in 2007 Gerard Butler almost signed a deal to play Snake.

well, i would assume a CEO or big-wig would've had to green light a remake. the first time the planned remake wasn't made was probably the right decision, hence reason it wasn't done.

how about "escape from albuquerque"? it could be my biopic. lots of drugs, action, sex, all the stuff that makes money in Hollywood.

If Robocop and Total Recall are any indication then this should be fantastic.

CessnaDriver's earlier comment on RPF suggested the movie only exists if you see it. That's pretty much the mindset I have with many other remakes.

It's the same reason the first trailer for Robocop remake is all I saw. Never saw the film, never will. I am sure the Robocop remake might have its own merits, but I am just not interested.

But I am not opposed to all remakes/reboots either. There are ways to make remakes/reboots work by taking familiar elements and putting a unique spin on them. Carpenter's The Thing is a good example of that and so is Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The Total Recall remake was abysmal.
