Favorite Batman story
So, I am looking for more Batman material to read. I have read allot of late 80s Batman, Knightfall, Hush, Long halloween, and most of the other big story arcs besides that whole War Games thing that happened in mid 2000s.
What are some great one shots or short stories that pop in your mind when you think about reading Batman?
I am huge into the detective side of things and kind of shy away from stories that have characters like Two Face taking an altered version of the Venom Serum (Thanks David Finch).

I recommend Darwyn Cooke's ''Batman: Ego and Other Tails'' book. It has some great short stories from Cooke.

Dark Knight Over Metropolis. Although it’s from Superman comics, it’s a great insight into the Bats/Supes connection.

thanks for all the recommendations fellas. I am currently enjoying the new " White Knight" story that is being released but I think I am going to start hunting down old scarecrow stories. He is such an underrated villain and is probably one of the most dangerous after you see his potential in Arkham Knight.

Should check out Snyder's Court of owls run. There's some decent detective stuff in the first portion mixed with a good mystery of a story.

I highly recommend Broken City by the 100 Bullets team of Azzarello and Risso. I'm pretty sure it immediately followed Hush but it's a fantastically dark noir story with no sidekicks, only 6 issues long and should be fairly easy to track down in a collected edition.
