It's a 5 by 5 Kallax, with some shelves removed, with Dioder led spots, and Montera cable management. I still want to fill the holes caused by the missing shelves, but need to find something that will blend in nicely with the Kallax.

That's a very clever use for that unit. I use mine to house records. Not a 5x5 though. Looks good.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

A small upgrade, added a Ledberg ledstrip at the top:

Originally, I wanted to make a custom cabinet, but I am quite happy with how this turned out

I thought of doing the same a few years back with my Expedit 2x4 before upgrading to full Besta set!!! Nice to see someone who actually did it!

Great job and looks classy!

I have a Kallax shelf for clothing, they are actually quite sturdy for Ikea because of how thick the outside portions are.

I had to rotate it 90 degrees, so I could remove some of the shelves, which means every shelf is only resting on these things:

But yeah, so far it seems sturdy enough.

Was just noticing on my shelves in my room the one that spans 5' across seems to have a little sag, I have 10 statues on that shelf and measured it this morning, the sides are 33 7/8" and the middle is 33 3/4", the shelf is 3/4" wood and is screwed in on the sides and across the back. There's no cracks or anything on the shelf but do you think I should put a support rod on the front of the shelf?
