The very first "Grave Matters" theme commison!

Well, I finally got in my Darryl Banks commission. It's the start of my new commission theme, called "grave matters." What it does, is to focus on a single character standing near the tombstone of another character, friend or foe, that has died and was significant to that character. This idea came about after I saw the commissions in this thread. I look forward to adding more of these commissions over the coming months and years and hope you will enjoy them, as well. I started with what, for me, was a very obvious choice. But I also hope you'll agree it came off beautifully. Makes me eager to see what future installments will bring. Below is the image of the finished piece. However, I suggest you all click the link to the piece, as you'll not just see one of my usuallly insightful write-ups, but some interesting additional images at the bottom. This is also my final personal art update for the year. Good way to end the year, I think, by starting up a new commission theme. Anyhow, please do enjoy! And comments, both there and here, are always welcome and appreciated!

Thanks, Gerry! I thought that was a great touch, too. It was all Darryl's idea. After I saw the prelim, I suggested using the names of the GL creators who were responsible for Kyle's creation, but Darryl said that might come off more tounge-in-cheek and he saw this as a more somber and serious kind of thing, so he opted for actual GL creators who had truly passed on. I think he was right, as it was the much better way to go.

Nice – Darryl did nice work on this. Also reminds me of the commission Argonus had Ron Lim do with Hulk at Caiera’s grave.

Very cool; Banks has a fun, almost "noir" style.
