Tarantino said in a recent interview that he wanted to do Casino Royale. That was it. The producers upset him or did something wrong to set him off. I think he was actually breaking down the story or something. Doing actual work. I don't think Tarantino has seen Casino Royale yet. I read an article about it somewhere on the Internet that I can't remember.

As much as Christopher Nolan wants to direct a Bond film. I bet once he talks to the people in charge and finds out the level of control they have over the story. He will probably walk away. Nolan did mention once about how he wanted to do a Bond movie. I think it involved a reboot or one off similar to how Tarantino wanted to do it. But with the ending of Skyfall, I doubt we will see a new Bond actor.

i think DC is tied in with Bond for a few more. i would love to see a NOLAN Bond. seems like the perfect subject matter for Nolan whose filmography usually involves darker subject material (not just Bats). all the Brits i would think have a high regard for Bond and the preservation of what 007 stands for.

I'd love to see how Mann would handle Bond.

I kind of would too. But I think it might be too realistic. Many people didn't like the Miami Vice movie. Besides Michael Mann is another director that needs control over the work. So I think he would be in the same position as Nolan.

Well it looks like Mendes is who they want, and they're willing to wait for him.
