Even though I don't feel the same I can understand the argument being made about shared screen time in a "Spider-Man" movie but I don't think Parker has any place whatsoever in a Sinister Six film.

A new report claims that ‘Sinister Six’ will be a ‘soft reboot’ of the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise with a new actor replacing Garfield and the ‘Venom’ spin-off is dead.

If true, that would be an awful decision, imho. Trade off Garfield, arguably the strongest facet of their initial reboot, and a potential hit with Venom to once again reboot the franchise with.. the Sinister Six. A film that even the most devoted Spider-Man fans seem to have little to no interest in actually seeing come to fruition this early on in the game. I sincerely hope that that's not the case.
If memory serves me right, didn't Garfield sign on as Spidey for several years to come?

Rumor is that S6 is the last gasp for Sony to try and make hay solo. IF it fails the plan is to let Disney be involved in rebooting the character with an Avengers appearance. Not a right reversion but more of a reciprocal agreement from rumblings.
