I believe Oniri sold out, but they did it by providing allocations to Sideshow, BBTS, Spec, and other distributors. Not hard to do with an ES of 500.

I wouldn't describe Oniri as "practically unknown". I think many collectors think of them as the company that did that cool Superman piece and maybe the Flash piece, but if you look at their site, they have a lot more going on.

I don't blame anyone for jumping on this. Zod knows I've spent more for less in this hobby. The statue looks fantastic--hopefully the production piece turns out similar. Robocop is just such a difficult sculpt/paint to get right that I'd feel better putting in an order if a more established company were making it. Lots of new companies are getting sought-after licenses, and I don't know who is actually going to pull off quality production pieces.

I'm a HUGE movie fan, and have ordered a number of movie pieces, none of which have arrived yet. Here's what's coming:

Queen Studios Tom Holland Civil War Spider-Man
Queen Studios Ledger Joker
Queen Studios Gadot Wonder Woman
Queen Studios Vision bust
And now Robocop.

I guess with the movie pieces I'm focusing on mostly 1/4 scale that are predominantly polystone. I won't be getting into the $3000-$4000 silicone pieces.

Now that I think about it, I do have 2 movie pieces. The Prime 1 Justice League Batfleck and the Sideshow Aquaman.

I never knew this company existed before this release.

So this item ...one of the more expensive possibly record breaking humanoid 1:4 scale statues in recent memory, offered by a practically unknown company sold this out/waitlisted in less than 5 days

i'm sorry but

also, PCS just basically announced they're making a 1:3 RoboCop
The majority of Oniri's pieces tend to sell out within a few days some even within hours, they are very popular in Europe. Their recent Saint Seiya life size helmet costing $1730 sold out within 10 minutes, granted it only had an ES of 88 but still.

To be fair on you - I'd never heard of Oniri Creations before either, and when this Robocop came to my attention, I thought this company was just another Asian based company coming into the scene......For the "soy boys" out there, I refer to Asian from a geographical and not a racial perspective......

That said, looking at their "portfolio" of work, I don't see anything that gives me faith they can execute (even a partially) hyper real statue.....let's see.

As for PCS (rebranded Pop Culture Shock) doing something great in 1/3 - yeah......even more doubtful.....IMHO PCS = Low rent......I place those guys in the same box as Gamingheads / F4F - somewhere below Sideshow or XM, in terms of quality and finish.
