Outside of this hobby, the acquisition of Marvel properties and Star Wars properties has not really inflated prices. When COTD pieces without license and DC properties retail for the same as Disney owned properties...well, that is really all the proof you need.
DC properties wouldn't be cheaper, the only time you see a downscale in price for DC items is when DC themselves are actually selling the items. That's why DC Collectibles 1/6th scales are about $100 cheaper than the ones from Tweeterhead.

As for Court of the Dead it makes little sense to price them lower. They do indeed cost Sideshow less, but they price them the same as all the other collectibles because it makes sense from a sales point of view. It allows them to place the profit earned into other areas or make up for poor sales on items that are more of a gamble.

They certainly shouldn’t be listening to “Mr. counterfeits are cheap hence we are being overcharged” over here

Me too. I'm kinda over it.

But, I totally called it that they would wait until the new year to show this piece. You can pretty much bet he'll have another price hike over Thanos and Doomsday.

That's right, you totally did.

I had hopes of buying this last year, but that was last year. New year, new direction.
