Magneto 24x30 inches acrylic painting

I wanted to post it by the weekend, but worked on it some more. Acylic works so much differently then oils and some times it take a bit to remember that fact.

I wanted to the the simple 2 color flat with black that personally reminds me of the early and mid 90's.

The painting is 24 x 30 inches acrylic on canvas. Originally in another post I said it was 22x28, but that was incorrect.

Ummm that is me with the painting as well...I need a haircut...

Thanks
-Jon

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I don't understand why you are using paint as you would use ink - the whole idea of using paint is to create a more 3-d feel to the subject - what I see here could just have been done with ink and a couple of flat watercolors - it looks like a cartoon of maganeto not a painting of him

jamesh0wlett- Thanks. 90's were fun and Jim Lee's run on X-men is superb!

endsongjen- Thanks. Haha yes I have plenty of trees and foilage in my area. I have the porched screened in and "sealed" so I can use it as a studio for painting and clay(waterbased/messy) sculptures.

Trilogy-Thank You

jory REX-Thanks and yes my face is attached to the Magneto character and painting...wait no it is just in the picture...umm you get what I am saying...

Jonathan74- Thanks

nemesisenforcer- Thank you Thank you

Karen Stidham- I can understand your point of view. I could do a "realistic" or 3D-ish rendering of the character yes, especially with oil paint, But I wanted a challange with acrylic since I haven't done it in a while. It is not as easy as it looks. It takes many and I mean many layers on canvas to get a flat look with acrylic. Now I could have done it at this sice with watercolor or goauche and ink on illustration board....and even pulled more detail and probably half the time, but I wanted a challenge and fun. People painted covers for magazines and calenders back in the day, but they could have taken a photograph. It is all personal preference and nothing more. I do appreciate you leaving a comment and giving my painting a look.

Check in again soon as I have a huge Darkness painting (4ft by 3ft) oil painting I am working on right now that you might like. WIP shots coming soon!
