I don't understand why you guys are so shocked.
Sideshow isn't dumb. If they sell 750 of these for $450 yes they make money. Then People turn around and sell their $450 statue for double and dumb collectors buy it. So they raise the price. This forces us to collect without the intent to sell. I'm almost certain every predator bust 1:2 scale from sideshow is close to this new price if you Ebay it. The newest spiderman pf was $500 now it's selling for $600-$800. I bet sideshow raises their pf price again soon. The secondary market, from flippers or statue collecting investors coupled with the high prices of XM statues everyone is gobbling up has caused this hobby to over inflate in value. None of these things are worth what we pay for them. But everyone wants to have more than the next guy and more exclusive stuff than their Instagram friends. It's all getting to be pretty dumb. I'm only buying what I can afford and what I plan to keep. I suggest people do the same.

These views are mine and mine alone. Just giving some perspective from a different point of view.
It's so true, the flippers/eBay are driving the prices up. People who are supporting their business are not doing us a favour. SS is supposed to be making money off of us and lots of people are making money off of them lol. I'm sure the factories see prices on what they manufacture for SS and increase prices to SS as well. Not defending SS, but stop supporting flippers. My opinion of course.

I didn't state that was a fact.

Look at any of the new pf's. Spidey, wolverine, darth Maul. . They are all gonna be gone despite the outrage of the people on this forum. All of them $500 or close to that.

Anything is possible, we simply don't know why it was cancelled as no reason was given even to those who ordered it. It may even come back in future, anything is possible although I can't see people paying anywhere near this kind of money for it.

You are right about things still selling out despite the price rises, we certainly don't help ourselves. Even at this (I think insane is a fair word?) Price, I'm still considering this in the back of my mind. But we may be at a point now where even the loyalist of fans ordering this stuff are doing so begrudgingly and building up animosity as they do so. This is really not good long term and I can't see it continuing forever. The saddest thing is that we've had some really nice statues of late, this, Kylo Ren, Maul. And yet 90% of the discussion is regarding the cost, and understandably. We often refer to the good old days, it's a cliche. But I think we're reaching the point where they have actually passed now sadly.

And yes naturally there are always people who put things on eBay that are rediculously priced but if you guys can't admit that the secondary market plays a role in the uptick of the prices sideshow is coming up with you're delusional. It's a factor for sure. That's how people come up with prices to sell theirs on the secondary market. I have the koto Sosa spiderman. I paid $180. I wouldn't sell it for less than $500 now because every time it sells it sells for $500 or more. If koto released a reprint of that statue I guarantee it wouldn't be for $200 a piece. This is a business and we have given these producers the power to abuse us and it won't end for a long time.

That's all I was trying to say. I don't condone the behavior of the production companies but I understand their movement. To quote Spock right now,"It's only logical".

So you are full of opinions.

What's your opinionated solution?

Peopme can ask $1,000,000 on eBay. Means nothing unless they actually sell.

The community needs to stop being greedy. I'm just one man. I can't change everything but I try to do my part. Here's an example. I had the SDCC exclusive Thanos bust from GG. I sold it for exactly what I bought it for to a collector who I became friendly with. I knew he was a genuine fan of Thanos. I knew he wasn't going to turn around a flip it after he got it and we both won in that exchange. Now we are friends. That bust is only available for $500 bucks now on eBay. That's insane. I could have screwed the community further but I chose to be a part of this awesome hobby for the right reasons. That's the only way I see it can be fixed. Unfortunately people like money and there will always be greedy collectors. That's why people have XM magneto and don't want him but won't sell him for less than $3,000. I don't understand that thought process. I don't want this anymore and someone really does but screw them it's worth $3,000 bucks because...because why? It's worth nothing to them but worth something to the buyer. The people who buy overpriced statues on eBay are the problem. That's my opinion. Buy what you will keep and don't buy what you can't afford. Just my opinion since I'm full of them.
