The only thing funnier than the price is the Item Description.

I had to check on the site myself to see if that was really Amazon or if it was a vendor trying to pretend. As far as I can tell, it's really Amazon.
WTF Amazon?

I finally managed to get through to a chat agent, who unfortunately was based in India. He either didn't understand my concern or was being obtuse. He kept telling me that Amazon doesn't price match when I told him that the MSRP for Red Hood was $90.
Amazon truly blows. I hope Uncle Sam breaks it up into smaller companies.

Probably was a language barrier and outside the realm of his job description. Sometimes items go super lower than the MSRP (the DCC Gotham Gordon at $25 stands out to me and I regret passing on that one), so maybe the pricing pendulum swings both ways at random?

While I've seen Amazon, Walmart, and GameStop sell items for higher than MSRP, this is beyond scalping and even gouging. I mean, you can buy a car for $25,000. The MSRP for the statue when it was announced was $90.

Why would you contact amazon about this? They can charge what they like surely? If someone drops 25k on this, money isn't an issue to them. There aren't any laws to prevent this, it just means they won't sell it until they drop the price

Actually no, there are laws against gouging when an item is not a rare commodity or antique. This was mass produced within the past six years, so it's neither rare nor an antique.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Price mistakes happen. And with a retailer like Amazon with so many item listings, they have to rely on customers to report something clearly wrong like that. I work for a similar company and we have reports of stuff like this all the time come in from customers, it’s then my job to get them corrected. Why wouldn’t you report it to Amazon to ensure they correct what is clearly and error? I reported it to them.

After dealing with several idiots, I finally got a response from someone who knows what he's doing. The matter will be escalated to someone who can adjust prices, similar to what UnicornPegasus does at her company.
