Same here, opening is my only complaint as well. The show is really good so far.

I'm really digging what I've seen so far, and hope the quality remains the same.
D&D were the problem, they are long gone and Westerosi is in good hands. The world and characters have always been amazing, just need competent people to adapt them (doesn't hurt this story is complete too).

It isn't though, technically (if I'm not mistaken). I just found out yesterday - 'Fire & Blood' is only Volume 1 in the Targaryen history. Volume 2, 'Blood & Fire' isn't done yet. We're looking at another GoT scenario, possibly.

"House of the Dragon" covers "The Dance of the Dragons" era of Targaryen reign which is covered in "Fire and Blood".

"Blood and Fire" will cover events after, which we know the basic outlines of, but will get more detail.

hopefully a Jon Snow spin off will help. I still get mad talking about the ending of that show. I like this one so far, but nothing beats the opening episode of GoT when we are immediately introduced to the walkers.

Another good episode. That sequence on the Stepstones was really well done. Daemon may be a mean SOB, but he is a frickin badass, even when he's not on a dragon. When Daemon was surrounded, I was expecting Caraxes to fly in solo and help out, but then we get Laenor Velaryon on his dragon Seasmoke (love these names) just wrecking shop. Then I remembered in the battle discussion they did mention dragons (plural)... lucky for those Velaryons that they have Targaryen blood

This makes me wonder how many dragons are left in Westeros? At this point in the timeline, their numbers have to be low...by the time Game Of Thrones comes around, dragons had been extinct for well over 100 years.

About 20...

I read this article a few days ago, but wasn't thinking about the riders at the time. I was wondering who was riding that dragon at the end, because for some reason I didn't think the Valaryons were dragon riders. I thought that was part of the thinking behind why they were black - that they were a different offshoot of Valyrians, who were seafarers.

Oh, and geez... talk about a time jump! 3 years...?!

Cool, more dragons than I thought. The timeline is moving along at a brisk pace, and some characters will have an older actor step in to replace them. I haven't checked to see if Daemon is one of them...I hope not, just age-up Matt Smith with makeup & CG if need be, he's great.

The replacements happen between episodes 5 & 6. I'm going to miss Milly Alcock. She's been great as Rhaenyra...

Rhaenyra Targaryen - Milly Alcock will be replaced by Emma D'Arcy
Allicent Hightower - Emily Carey will be replaced by Olivia Cooke
Leana Velaryon - Nova Fouellis-Mose will be replaced by Nanna Blondell
Laenor Velaryon - Theo Tate will be replaced by John MacMillan
