Buy/Sell/Trade - I sense i might have been scammed by a member of StatueForum.com

Buy/Sell/Trade - I sense i might have been scammed by a member of StatueForum.com ..what do you think?

I spotted a Sideshow Collectibles piece on Buy/Sell/Trade and contacted the seller who has been a member on StatueForum.com for 10+ years. I agreed to purchase the piece, and sent payment.

Communication was fine up until the point the seller claimed they had not received payment. After that the seller stopped communicating..
06-28-2021 was the last time they logged on. That was the same date as their final message?

At the moment, i am $652.00 down. Not happy about it.

Why not just file a claim?

Being the trusting nice guy that i am, i have given the seller extra time.
What might appear to be a scam might not be a scam. Who knows?

Something else, i made the stupid mistake of paying using an iban number.
I don't think buyers are protected. I know, PayPal is the only way to go.

Hmmm, this is sad to see. Coming up on two weeks... it doesn't look good, but maybe something happened to them during the July 4th weekend? It would suck someone would throw away 10+ years over $700, but it does seem to happen in this hobby.

I hope this person comes through on the deal and makes it right for the delay.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't?
I have contacted the recipient's bank, if only to find out if the payment arrived or not?

Ah, OK, well, still, try talking to your bank. They should be there to help you, regardless. And frankly he's given up his window for you to be "nice" and worry about his issues. It's 2021, it takes 10 seconds to send an email. There are no excuses anymore (unless you are dead or missing fingers).

If he is out to pull a fast one, who is not to say he hasn't sold the same piece multiple times?

The same seller has an ebay account. His history implies that of someone who buys, not sells.
In the past week he has decided to sell 4 pieces, which total quite a sum of money.

I'd give them three more days to make it two weeks. After that I'd do like SDguy said and contact your bank to see what they can do about it. You're right that sometimes what looks like a scam isn't, the item might be in the mail for all you know, but after two weeks of no communication I'd say it's time to take action. What did their bank have to say?

The seller returned after some weeks.
They informed me payment had been received.

A family member had passed away.

I will wait.. ..and see. Who knows?

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I would think they would get you a tracking number in a day. Everyone has a cell so they could of easily sent a message. Still as long as they ship it out right away and get that to you then I would let it go.
