While I agree that the skin tone could be better, I disagree about the teeth, there are perfect!
The cape is great, difficult to position, but still great.

A Cimmerian
I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

It’s a pass for me, because of the fabric cape. I made the mistake of buying the 1/5 Thor who also has a fabric cape and it looks so bad and cheap... I don’t know if they could make these capes with a different, lighter and thinner material instead of resin.

And please, all the apologists saying that it's how Vikings should look are just full of it.

It's a pity, the sculpt is phenomenal, and even the QC ain't bad this time but Sideshow had to mess up the skin color and add an ugly fabric cape.

It's mind numbing....
From what you’re saying, I’ve got to assume that the skin tones were probably worse for you with the prototype than they are now with the production piece, as people were mentioning the tone back then as well.

But I think the skin tones are fairly accurate to the source material. Well to the Gorr God Butcher run of comics, to which this piece or at least the costume seems to be based upon (though I don’t think Surtur had anything to do with that section of the run). Not so much the interiors at all, but the covers have the same type of colouring for whatever reason.

It’s unfortunate, but a lot of statue collectors may not have read any comics on a consistent basis for a couple of decades, if not even longer.

Which I’ve always found a bit odd in that most collectors refuse to touch movie based pieces, and yet their closest interaction with a lot of the characters are the movies which are currently presenting them to a much wider audience, and yet the comics of which their statues are supposedly based off of, they may not have touched in an age, and as such are unfamiliar with the lore as it were. But I guess it’s the nostalgia factor.

Heck if it wasn’t for the Marvel Unlimited app, I might be in the same position, but I mostly collect movie based pieces anyway, as resale value isn’t much of a priority with me anyway, as I know for a lot of the pieces I collect there isn’t much of an aftermarket.

Let’s not let this get personal. So a guy doesn’t think the Thor statue is as good as you do. So what!

The only complaint I have is that they should have given us another right hand for the ex as well so you had the option of posing either of hammers or both. That’s it! I love this statue .
