According to the stats I've read, and I don't know how true these actually are or not, the PS3 Slim is supposed to be roughly 33% smaller, 36% lighter and 39% more energy efficient. Also apart from the very first batch, for some reason that I'm unaware of, the Slim is planned to come with firmware 3.0. And no, they haven't re-instated backwards compatibility, so its just like regular ps3's from the last couple of years in that regard. All existing models already in stores will also be dropped to match the new price point, but actually expect many retailers to treat the existing models like old stock, and cut the price even more just to clear the current stock out. No specific bundles have been announced or even rumoured yet as far as I've heard.
In Australia the list price for the slim is set to be $499 AUD.
