Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

She is ok with it.
I do tell her that everything costs about 25% of what it actually does and that everything appreciates immediately and at an incredible rate, which I'm sure helps...

I have to agree with Vrac on this one, of all my hobbies (Drinking, Gambling, Womanizing, and statue collecting) she likes statue collecting the best.

And you never sell anything because they are ALWAYS increasing in value, it would be crazy to sell now, tomorrow they will be worth even more
I'm sure she knows better but it's ok. Truth be told we have a pretty much 50-50 partnership when it comes to finances in our marriage. Her end is to spend it and my end is to make sure its there

its funny as thats pretty much how I used to deal with my parents to get them off my back. I used to always be at work when the packages arrived at the door so my parents had to accept them for me. When I get home all i hear is "What did that giant toy cost?!" (everything I got was a "toy" to them whether it was a book, movie, video game, statue...literally everything was a "toy")
...uhh...$50?
then I'd just carry my giant box downstairs and unpack my "$50" Thor PF

ME TOO!
OMG, my parents don't get why I collect statues. All my SS statues are delivered to their house because there is always someone home to sign for them. And as soon as I visit them, that is all I hear. Questions about how much it was etc. They think they are way too expensive, but as soon as I tell them that they are doubled or tripled in value, then they are all excited. lol
