There is a BIG difference between paying for a swipe as requested vs an "artist" (using the term loosely here) swiping something and presenting as their own with no credit to the original artist. If Bruce commissioned these and provided or was aware of the reference art I see nothing wrong with it.

see people either need to decide is a swipe a swipe or what is it allowed if you ask for it and know what it is or is not allowed to be done by any artist. I don't see a "After....." on these pieces so why is it allowed the whole point is giving the original artists credit is it not???
