Is the Ikea Detolf good to display Sideshow 1/4 PF
Hello everybody I was considering purchasing some Ikea Detolf glass cabinets to display my Sideshow 1/4 scale Premium Formats. Does anybody already use them for that and how do you like it or rate it? Will the 1/4 scale pieces fit okay and do the shelves handle the weight ok? Thanks for your help.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Ikea rules for budget cabinets, and this thread:

will give you ALL the info you need!
If you dig through there, you will see lots of detolfs. They seem to work well!

Not really, IMO. You'd have two spaces instead of 4 and tons of dead space in between. The weight should be ok for most PFs - they are supposed to hold 13 pounds.

While the detolfs can fit most 1/4th scale pfs, the shelves are not adjustable which leaves a lot of dead space. You can really only fit two pfs per detolf and there are huge gaps above the statues which looks bad IMO. Check out the klingsbo glass cabinet from ikea. They are more expensive but they are much better for displaying pfs because there won't be any huge gaps. If you don't mind the gaps, then a detolf may be perfect for you but I would suggest taking a look at the klingsbo. Also, take a look at the besta shelf unit. The besta is the best solution for displaying pfs, but they do not have 360 degree viewing angle like glass cases do. Hope this helps.

Detolfs are perfect for 1/6 statues like Bowen and CS Moore. However, they don't even hold the 1/5 comiquettes without having to remove 2 of the glass shelves! PF's definitely fit on top of the detolfs though!

Heres a pic of someones 1/4 statues displayed in Detolfs.
They look good when you have a few detolf cases lined up together.

Wow those look great. Thanks for the picture. So you can adjust the Shelf height of the shelves in the Detolf? Do you find they get very dust in there with the openings in the glass?

Someone must have customized those; standard detlofs do not allow for that look.

I have 40 of them and I'm going to buy 5 more this week. I love them for displaying PFs. Getting Risers is a really good idea.
