The Whale - 8.5/10
Fraser shines. Glad to see Aronofsky making good films again. Too bad we won't see Fraser in Batgirl. I demand a Fraser Renaissance!
Pinocchio (Del Toro version) - 8/10

Strange World - 6.5/10. Took my nieces to this Disney animated fare. The film was enjoyable but nothing outstanding. Ultimately, I don't think it will be one I will re-watch.

Samaritan (2022)
6.5/10
It's a Sylvester Stallone movie. Not his best, not his worst. Not overly original.
Think super-hero without the cape, or bright colors.
The action/fighting sequences work rather well.
Very much a story tailored around Stallone's skill set. I sort of liked it.
Stallone movies nearly always tend to feature a good musical score.

Here Comes the Boom 9/10 yeah no one else is going to rate it that high but this is one of my guilty pleasures. Have to watch it when I stumble upon it.

Pinocchio - 9/10
Guillermo del Toro version
A passion project and a love letter to the classic tale and the medium of stop motion. For me the definitive adaptation of the story and right after watching and getting misty eyed the making of is a true treat to see the craft poured into this project.

A bout de souffle / Breathless (1960) - A small-time thief steals a car and impulsively murders a motorcycle policeman. Wanted by the authorities, he reunites with a hip American journalism student and attempts to persuade her to run away with him to Italy.
The Handmaiden (2016) - A woman is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her.
I recently got a new 65" 4K TV and made two of my top ten movies the first things I watched on it. Magnificent. Both 10/10
