The Walmart comment is a bit much, and unnecessary. Statues do pop better in black displays, especially with cool white lighting inside. Sometime though you have to factor in your actual room decor... a big black monolith of shelves or cubes just doesn't always work for a particular location, especially when you display your pieces around your home, which I prefer, as opposed to like a single dedicated room that I need to make an effort to visit.
