That shield would do far less damage than Slade's sword or staff.
If Cap gets stabbed it's over but if Slade gets stabbed he's pissed and healed in that order.

First off Cap does experience fatigue.

A few points to consider;

Slade;

"........ the strength of ten men and heightened speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes."

".........possesses a healing factor"..........."This enables him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries"

".........he has the capacity to use up to 90% of his brain making him a tactical genius"
