Poker's my game!
It wouldn't be fair to play against you all, I'd clean house.

I have entered two poker tourneys in my life, here at the Local Hard Rock Casino, and won them both with a Buy in of $75, and I took home a bit over $1,000 each time. I play regularly every wednesday night (today ) and was just thinking to myself, "I wonder how many poker players we have on this forum?"
Wouldn't it be great if we could have an annual Statue Forum Poker Tourney, and win statues in the process! I know Drod, Boony, Jesse321 (just starting to learn), Myself, and a few others who play regularly, but I would like to know who else plays regularly, and maybe we can set up some tables in some of the on-line sites, and just play ourselves for fun in the private Tables!
Thoughts....

I love playing Texas Hold 'Em (Limit or No Limit), but I don't have a regular poker game around here; just whenever my co-workers decide to get together. Some of the bars will run small tournaments, but you can only win non-cash prizes. I want the cold hard cash, baby! If there was a private on-line SF table, I would probably play.
Another related item might be setting up a fantasy poker league. I don't know much about this, but they seem to be popping up pretty quickly.
Excellent thread, Deadpool!

Hey Nova, we would be playing ourselves correct? Not a Fantasy Baseball, or Football type deal right?

I'm not 100% sure how the Fantasy Poker leagues work, but I think they are similar to the Fantasy Football models; so the participants would compete their "name" players, like say Daniel Negreanu or Chris Ferguson. If anyone has more insight, please fill us in.
It was just a thought. All said, I think it's probably more exciting to actually play cards than do the simulation.

once in a while with friends we'll play hold 'em or just regular five card draw. our bets are pretty sad, though, like winning $0.25 off one hand. but that's also canadian dollars. so that's like... $0.220106 in us buckage.
