No that's basically it. Maybe I should just kind post the steps for people so they know how it works in the process. It's actually super simple in process

1. The initial design is drawn, either traditionally or digitally

2. The Design is sculpted either traditionally (i.e. Clay, Sculpey etc.) or Digitally (Zbrush, Blender etc.)

A. If Sculpted Digitally the sculpt is then
printed either in house or sent out.

3. Once the piece is finished it is then cast using a cold cast which consisted of a silicone mold and a two part self curing resin (Polyester Resin, Epoxy Resin, etc.)

4. The piece is then sanded and cleaned.

5. The Piece is then Primed and Painted with each coat receiving a clear coat to seal it.

Yep, their promo vid this week shows a rubber mold being used for the protos painted in studio. Protos would have been something other than sculpey, and suggests something other than vinyl.

This thing is 24" tall, with a very small base so comparing it with other statues that are the same height but when the base makes up 1/3 of the height it's not a fair comparison. Neither is comparing this to Bane which has no where near the detail.
Tell that to SS Man-Thing Comiquette years ago or Prime 1's Swamp Thing. Seems to show all the details to me.

The issue with Sideshow and polystone is getting real actor likeness correct, not capturing details.

You're joking right, Loric? The detail on the Manthing is about a 10th of the ST.

Do we know what P1 ST is made out of? Resin?

That's the sculptor though, not the material. Like Matt Black nailed Maul this last time, and I think Rey was done really well. Solo was a little off.

It's definitely not an easy thing to do.

The fact is they are both highly detailed polystone statues. Add to the fact Man Thing was made damn near 6 years ago and that it was highly detailed only says to me it can be done and has been done.

And furthermore, as a former owner of Man Thing, there were tons of fine hidden details throughout it. Reason why I am not a big fan of this ST (even though it is a phenomenal sculpt) is because its basically a creature of vines. This is why I much prefer Prime 1 version because it is more varied. More like a Swamp.
