While this photo (as well as supporting the earlier, "poor quality" photo ) shows an ok portrait, it lacks character and looks extremely generic.
While the whole figure may well be a catch based on the diver equipment, and additional details it comes with, at least for me, the statue does not deliver on it's promise.
Those that have the exclusive just won the lottery, you guys definitely got the better statue, and the value of that purchase will be guaranteed going forward!!

I agree dude. The face of the original prototype looked so dominant with tons of character. Generic is also the word I would've chosen for the production release. I also agree when you said that whomever out there has the variant is a lotto winner. Even though the face of the original production takes after the variant's face, now that I can see the two production releases side by side, the variant is the clear winner between the two. You can easily tell Gentle Giant put more love into the variant when it was made.

Tough crowd. You are entitled to your own opinion but I'm just saying, that in person, you're not just staring at the face. You're staring at the piece as a whole. And, as a whole, this piece is stunning.

I don't doubt for a minute that the whole piece is quite imposing. Everyone has seen the prototype, and if the other aspects are anything close to that, then as a whole, the figure will be something special.
And like dechirico7 said, when do we ever get what was on the tin (with regards to the portrait!).

As usual the rest of her detail is unmatched, but dammit man, I loved that proto face. Still considering the purchase of her. Thanks for the pictures SF. The second set of pics you posted were much better.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Thanks for taking the time to snap some photos, SF. These give me a better sense of the final product than what we saw the other day. She looks good overall but I have to agree with Aliz. She's missing that attitude in her expression from the proto. Looking forward to seeing more though.
