Did they ever show that thing for real in the comics? I know that Reed Richards once threatend Galactus with it, but it was a fake (Galactus couldn't read his mind because the Watcher was reading his mind at the time). And i don't recall ever seeing it as an actual machine somewhere. It was always talked about, but never did i see it.

Where did you read it was a fake?
I remember Captain America killing Galactus and later Korvac destroying the universe with it in a great What-If Korvac story and Quasar failing to defeat Thanos with it during one of the Infinity ( fill in blank ) min-series.
