WHAT TYPE OF COLLECTOR ARE YOU (BUYING/SELLING} ????

Hey guys...think this topic was discussed once before...but im just concern and like to ask a question what type of collector are you...{buying and selling}.

BUYING

1. THE STATUE HAS TO BE MINT PERFECT FROM ALL ANGLES...EVEN UNDER THE FEET AND BASE.

2. THE BOX, TISSUE, STYROFOAM MOLD, ALL AROUND MINTY MINT.

3. GET A STATUE WITH MINOR DEFECTS AT A SUPER LOW PRICE.

4. WILL PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR A PERFECT MINTY STATUE.

5. NOT ONLY FROM A DISPLAY VIEW {10 INCHES AWAY} IT HAS TO BE MINTY MINT UP CLOSE IN MY HANDS.

6. THE LOW BALLER!!...FOR EXAMPLE A CHROME SILVER SURFER GOES FOR A AVERAGE BTWN 550 TO 625....AND THE LOW BALLER WERE OFFER 375 SHIPPED!... I HAVE ENCOUNTERD ALOT OF GUYS LIKE THIS.

7. IT LOOKS GREAT, BOX IS GOOD, AND FROM A DISPLAY VIEW IN MY SHOWCASE IT LOOKS EXCELLENT...AS OF THE BOX..FAIR IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

8. EXAMING YOUR STATUE WITH A FLASH LITE.

....im sure there are more....and these are just a few.

SELLING

1. WILL TAKE A LOSS... I NEED THE MONEY.

2. WILL TRY TO MAKE MY MONEY BACK, AND MAKE OUT EVEN FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT.

3. WILL TRY TO MAKE A LITTLE PROFIT. {DUE TO WHAT THE STATUE IS GOING FOR}

4. THE CROOK!...THAT WANTS TO MAKE ...NOT A PROFIT A KILLING!!...AND SELL A STATUE FOR TRIPLE THE AMOUNT WHEN IT GOES FOR 30% BELOW RETAIL.

5. JACK UP THE SHIPPING PRICES

...im sure there are more, these are just a few

i brought this topic up due to me trying to liquidate some of my statues...and get others.

for me i would be

BUYING 3 7

SELLLING 1(when times are hard) 2 3

I would say I'm a solid 7 but a little bit of 1. Just a little.

I've never sold but if I had to, it would likely be 2 or 3

For buying I would say that everybody wants a perfect statue (1 & 2), but reality tells otherwise. As you, I settle for 3 & 7.

For selling, I have been in the difficult situation of number one, but I prefer number 2 & 3. I despise those that try to take advantage of fellow collectors.

I guess, we share the same views.

Top Dollar for Minty mint.

I'm sorry you had to encounter so many lowballers.

I have had alot of good experiences with foreign collectors. Only a very few lowballers.

The majority of Danish collectors I have encountered have been lowballers though.

Buying second hand? 7 maybe 3

Selling 1,2,3 although 1 and 2 are the norm

Lowballers need to be outlawed. I have many a time sternly lectured these primitive lifeforms that they don't know anything about negotiation!

When it omes to selling, I want top dollar.

I ask 4000$ for my CM Predator afterall. If the CM Predator goes up to 5000$ on ebay I will still sell mine for 4000$ to be nice and sell it a little faster.

I never sell on ebay though, too many stories of sellers getting robbed or conned.

My Gentle Giant kneeling Darth Vader goes for between 275-350. I would sell mine in the low end as it's not a rare statue, I will lose money on it that's fore sure. I paid 450$ for mine from my LCS.
