Here's me blabbering on about it at the CAF link:
"Very early page from the series that has a lot going for it IMO.
1st panel is the first mention of Cap's shield, which plays a prominent role in Vance's life.
The 2nd panel hints at the relationship between Charlie and Nikki (which somehow went over my head at the time of the book's release).
The bottom of the page is the first appearance of Aleta (and with a new look to boot) in Valentino's series. In fact, I may be wrong but I don't think the character appeared much anywhere for about 13 years before this!"
Anyway, Valentino seems to have been erased from GOTG history for the most part by Marvel, but one of the few things that they've kept is Vance using Cap's shield. Far as Aleta goes, she really only appeared in maybe half a dozen stories, then disappeared for 13 years until Valentino started using her.
...if I play my cards right I may have an even earlier page than this (from #1) soon
