Decent piece...I can contact Upper Deck. Forgive my ignorance, but who is the artist?

James Jean, he's doing tons of covers (Green Arrow, Fables and a few things for Marvel). I think this is actually for a card set. His site is HERE, if you click the illustration link the X-men piece is listed there with links at the top for stages of the work. His DC and Marvel cover work is listed under covers.

That is a nice piece but I don't think that I would buy one.

Well, I wouldn't either, but Jean's art is pretty clean and who knows? It might sell. Now that you mention it, I have seen a lot of his work fairly recently...I'm just not as hot for a piece from one of the "new" guys...I'm more of a "classic" afficianado!

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

saw this piece last month. it's awesome and huge. it was done for Upper Deck, not sure if it's a promo for VS card system, but there's a good chance they are going to turn it into one of their recent litho/giclee pieces.
