It looks like theaters in large cities are running the movie 24 hours a day for opening weekend.

You joke, but it stands a small chance of making $1B worldwide on its opening weekend.

Yes, I joke but 1 billion is a possibility worldwide.

I’d say it’s a definite.

Avengers Infinity War holds the current opening weekend record at $640M. However, the release date of IW in China was only on 11 May 2018 where it made $191M. This time around Endgame opens the same weekend.

The only thing working against Infinity War is its runtime of 3+ hours that should limit both the number of screenings per day and keep the casual fans from committing to seeing it at the theaters.

The fact that a $1B opening weekend is even being discussed is amazing. Should be interesting.

The two largest movies of all time, Avatar and Titanic, are both very long too, though. Avatar (#1) has a 2 hour and 42 minute run time and Titanic (#2) has a 3 hour 14 minute run time.

True, but both of those films were in theaters forever.

Avatar - 234 days
Titanic - 287 days
(for comparison) Avengers Infinity War - 140 days

You just don't see that with movies anymore.
