Well, this is a tale of both heartbreak and joy...mostly heartbreak, though.
I bought the Zatanna listed on eBay with extensive scuff marks.
I bought some flesh-colored paint and was ready to try my hand at repainting her face and legs. However, I wanted to clean/sanitize the statue first, so I applied some rubbing alcohol on it. This is the result -- without any paint at all.
Here's the heartbreak. As Madcougar had foretold, the statue arrived broken.
Well, I got her as a placeholder while we wait for DC to release an Artgerm version of Zatanna. I tied a piece of cloth around her ankle as a "bandage", and the worst crack is on the side facing the wall. I think the red cloth is a nice contrast with the black and white anyway.

Lol, we play the hand we're dealt! The cane on mine came loose, which made me happy because I don't like it!
You should just put a red cloth on her left ankle as well. Most people ...especially the non-comic-folks ....will just think it's part of her costume.
And you're right, the red is a nice contrast to her costume.
I thought about doing some more elaborate, but as it is, the statue still stands without me using any glue. I'd rather not induce more stress on the cracks while I mess around with tying cloth around her ankles.
