Hey morgs yea I get what you mean.. but unfortunately they only have a 2 hour frame for the script and at least they tried to include a lot from the source material.. there's alot I wanted to see played out more and given more screen time before going to another direction, but that's our love for the anime

Also one problem with I've seen with some Japanese movies is they're very "black and white" - as in the bad guy is always over-acted etc.. but this movie actually seemed to hit the notes alot better.. anyways it's cool RK fans are discovering this

Great news.

It is confirmed there will be not one, but two Rurouni Kenshin sequels. Even better, they're both based on the Kyto Arc!

They will be called "Kyoto Taika-hen (first part)" and "Densetsu no Saigo-hen (last part)".

Even cooler, they will be released one after the other.

They also want to make an even better movie than the last one, and it will have a bigger budget.

Definitely..

This is such awesome news.. best part is, they will pace it out across the 2 movies - so the most justice will be served to the best arc in kenshin.. giving them more screen time for fights such as Shishio and Soujiro! Rarely do even U.S. movies get 2 sequels just to cover the 1 arc, with even longer stories being butchered in to a ~1hr50 movie.. so yea, I thought I was over the excitement, but there's a whole new reason to be amped again..

The first kenshin movie was like ~2hrs20, and that was a much shorter arc in the manga.. it means we will have a potential 5 hours+ of Kyoto madness..

It will also be filmed in Kyoto itself, that's pretty cool

It wasn't released in cinemas like there was speculation for, only select ones but not mainstream. However it has been out on DVD/blu for a while in most Countries now, so it should be available in the U.S., amazon.com has a few options for example

On to other news
Makoto Shishio has been cast.. actor's name is Tatsuya Fujiwara..

(from live-action death note: left)

I can't doubt them, I didn't think Saito looked the part until I saw the movie.. but as far as Saito goes, I hope they flesh his character out more this time

First photo from the sequel.

It's been announced that actor Ryunosuke Kamiki will play Sōjirō Seta, the right-hand man of Makoto Shishio and Yusuke Iseya will play Aoshi Shinomori, the head of the Oniwabanshū ninja.
