Even as un-ideal as the bag is, having her out and viewable has proven essential, as it's clarified what my priorities should to be in the design of the eventual case I'll be making.
I think I'm finally on the right track now, and excited to get started on it when I get back.
The other nice thing about this brief 'sneak preivew' is that I still get to look forward to seeing her with her hair down and properly framing her face. As much as I'm loving 'er now, it's only a hint of her potential.
Then even farther down the road I can look forward to finding room for the arm and blade. It's the bust that keeps on giving.
BTW the oily shine that I noticed originally seems to be only really apparent when using a flash. In normal light, the silicone still has a dry, normally life-like appearance. Also, having it boxed up the last six months doesn't seem to have made that aspect any worse.
There will be a lot of humidity I can't control over the next month and a half I'll be gone, so once again I'll be unboxing her in November with a little trepidation.

Recently I noticed the same thing with my WW bust. When going over it with a torchlight, the oily shine was very obvious. But under my cabinets display lights, I didn't notice any such oiliness.

Maybe the silicone isn't "leaching" compounds, maybe it's just the way the material reflects direct light, or certain types of light.....

Yeah, certainly possible that's the case.
However the first time I cracked this open after it arrived, I did notice dollops here and there of an oily substance on the inside of the bag covering the silicone. So something was being expelled there at some point.
I can easily envision the silicone becoming harder and more brittle over time. I don't know what's worse though- heat and humidity or dry and cold. We get both here, and the swing back and forth every year, over time, might be worse than either extreme on it's own.

I only just opened my WW bust and noticed a few wet oily patches on her arms, after a week though it has all seemed to dry up by itself.

Necro post...But got my Alita regular version bust from SpecFiction today. (#176)
So maybe those who ordered it from SF will get theirs soon possibly?
Would have loved to have gotten the deluxe version, but it would have added about $700 more to the price per SpecFiction when they gave me a chance to do it a few weeks ago, and i couldn't afford it at the time unfortunately.
Will most likely open and set it up this weekend when i'm off work.

I missed this one the other day-Congratulations!
Do you plan on putting it in a case, or free-ranging it?
Were you on the waitlist? I'm surprised there are any more still filtering out.

I have a curio cabinet i plan to put it in. Just need to make a little room when i get the time to do so. (Been working 12's the past week or so) Never was on the waitlist as it was still in stock when i ordered it.
Have the Harley Quinn bust ordered also and paid for so hopefully i'll get that sometime this year, and am currently paying on the Daenerys bust which i'm saving a spot in my cabinet for.
