That's like saying feminism should have nothing to do with the Wonder Woman movie. The demographic to whom these movies primarily speak will inevitably claim ownership.

I never saw WW as a feminism movie. She, like Supes, Cap or whoever really appeals to everyone.

Of course all of these characters appeal to everyone. The movies would not be made if they didn't. Nevertheless, there were women-only screenings of Wonder Woman in some cities.

I adore the Wonder Woman movie. Part of the reason being how Diana felt above, even if naively at first, our differences and squabbles. She doesn't define people by race, sex, or nationality, she exhibits the power of empathy as much as force.
That's what a hero is to me, not just doing great things, but also inspiring those to do better. Seeing Trevor's sacrifice and how it renewed Diana's resolve when she was disillusioned in humanity spoke to this. I don't see it as a story or character that is limited in anyway in terms of appeal.

These characters don't appeal to everyone. I don't like WW comics. I do however love the movie. If feminists or whoever claim them, great, but a good movie is a good movie. Looks like we are making similar points.

Yes but my point is they shouldn't be marketed that way. I realize they are but they shouldn't be. If you're saying the demographic that primarily will see this movie is black or the demographic that went to WW were woman I would humbly disagree. As for the films 'speaking' to people I'd argue that it's the geek demographic that wins there too.

Agreed. That's what I was trying to say. Unsuccessfully.
